This beautiful wooden bowl is an example of Segmented Lathe-Turned Art. It was constructed from over 200 individually cut pieces of carefully selected hardwoods arranged in precise patterns and sizes, glued together in rings that are stacked to form a rough shape; and finally, turned on a lathe. It was sanded to a 400 grit finish and sprayed with four coats of clear lacquer, and then polished with a paste wax. No stains or dyes were used. Designed, created and donated by Sioux Falls wood-turner Paul Sova.
