  Roza Abukina-Edblom, a Southeastern employee who works at Education & Integration Services, will be competing in the Mrs. South Dakota International Pageant on Sunday, October 2nd at 7pm. The pageant will be held at the Orpheum Theatre. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door. Roza's platform will be developmental disabilities, drawing on her experiences with the amazing people supported at E&I. We know Roza would love to have some familiar faces in the crowd to cheer her on! We wish Roza the best of luck!  Roza.JPG

2011 Roy C. Knowles Friend of Mental Health Awards and Directions for Life Awards

In recognition of National Mental Health Month, Southeastern announced the Roy C. Knowles and Directions for Life Awards winners in May 2011.  Each recipient was recognized for contributions to the advancement of the mental health field in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook, and Turner Counties.  The Knowles Awards were established in honor of Roy C. Knowles, the founding director of Southeastern Behavioral HealthCare.  He was an early advocate for mental health services within our community and the first community psychiatrist in the State if South Dakota.  He directed Southeastern (then known as Minnehaha County Guidance Center) from 1952 to 1964, and acted as the Medical Director from 1980 to 1985.

Southeastern also recognized two Directions for Life donors who have gone above and beyond to demonstrate their support for the people we serve.

           

            2010 Directions for Life Awards:

                        • Corporate Donor of the Year –Raven Industries

                        Employer of the Year – INTEK Cleaning & Restoration

 

Southeastern congratulates the award winners and thanks them for the support they provide to the children, adults and families we serve.
